Rudraksha in Sanskrit: rudrākṣa (lord sivas tears) is a large evergreen broad-leaved tree whose seed is traditionally used for prayer beads in Hinduism.Rudraksha beads are the material from which malas (108 beads in number) are made. The term is used both for the berries themselves and as a term for the type of strings made from them. In this sense, a rudraksha is a jepamala, used for repetitive prayer , a common aid to worship .. Rudraksha is also used for treatment of various diseases in traditional medicine in India.
The seeds show variation in the number of grooves on their surface, and are classified on the basis of the number of divisions that they have. Different qualities are attributed to the rudraksha based on the number of grooves, or 'faces' that it has. A common type has five divisions that is called five face rudraksham.
We have Rudrakshams from Nepal 1 face to 14 faces. 21 face is used for Lakshmi kadaksham that is lakshmi kubera rudraksham.   

How to cleanse and Wear Rudraksham:

• Clean it with Ganga water or deep sea water.
• Soak it in pure cow milk for 24 hours.
• keep it in pure cow ghee for 24 hours.
• Soak it in goumiam ( cow urine) for 24 hours.
• keep it in vibuthi for 24 hours.
• Keep it in bowl of Ragi for 24 hours.

After clensing keep the rudraksha in silver plate on vilva leaf (Bilva) and chant following mantra .(108 times)
"Tridalam TrigunakaramTrinetrancha Triyaayudham Trijanma Paapa SamharamEka Bilvam Shivarpanam"

Then close the rudraksha with vilva leaf and keep it for 24 hours. Then you can wear the Rudraksham by chanting Respective mantras as per the face of rudraksha on an auspicious day
